New York Birth Injury Lawyers
Helping Cerebral Palsy Patients
The birth of a child should be one of, if not the most cherished memory in any parent's life. While the highs that come with having a healthy child are as exhilarating as any feeling, the lows associated with the discovery that a child has contracted cerebral palsy because of a mistake made during delivery are as debilitating as any emotion. The New York birth injury lawyers at Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald understand and empathize with these emotions, and this is one of the reasons that the firm has been fighting for families who find themselves in this situation for almost 40 years.
Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald – A Brief History
The firm began to operate in 1971 when it was founded by John E. Fitzgerald, and like many other firms, the staff at the time consisted of one part-time secretary. The original location of the firm was 3265 Johnson, Avenue in the Bronx. While we started small, our ability to serve families as New York birth injury lawyers soon earned a positive reputation.
As a result of this emerging track record, the firm relocated to 888 Grand Concourse in the Bronx the following year and continued to grow. In September, 1979 the firm's expanding size necessitated a move into larger office spaces at 2600 Netherland Avenue in the Bronx. Ultimately, in October of 1985 the firm built its own 15,000 square foot building at 538 Riverdale Avenue in Yonkers, where we have been operating for almost 25 years.
Even though Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald has continued to grow to the point where there are now approximately 70 people on staff including 13 who have been with us for more than 15 years, we still operate with the same principles and ideals that were in place in 1971. Our success is all about our people and that's based on the passion with which we serve aggrieved families as zealous and relentless New York birth injury lawyers.
How We Serve as New York Birth Injury Lawyers
When a family comes to us because their child has contracted cerebral palsy as a result of a mistake made during childbirth, we handle it as though the matter will proceed to trial from the start. While we will explore settlements for our clients if we think that a fair and equitable settlement can be reached, we owe it to those we serve to never cut any corners with our preparation.
Therefore, when people need our help, we jump in with both feet and get to work without delay. While preparing for trial is a process that can take hundreds and sometimes thousands of hours, cerebral palsy cases require this level of preparation because of the potential opponents we will face on behalf of those families who are harmed. Hospitals, executives, insurance company representatives and defense attorneys are all highly skilled professionals, but our reputation precedes us and can lead to reasonable resolutions of the cerebral palsy matters we handle.
Therefore, if your child suffers from cerebral palsy because of what you believe was a mistake made during the delivery, you need to take action by contacting our team of New York birth injury attorneys immediately to schedule a free initial consultation.
